It’s here, the revolution in laser gaming; now not only can you shoot your friends at 100m but you can shock them as well. You want realism, adrenaline, pain, now you've got it. Perth Laser Sports has worked with SHOCKTAG to bring this exciting technology to the market, Perth is first in the world again.

SHOCKTAG has been developed in Perth to bring the realism to outdoor lasertag. The last twelve months have seen SHOCKTAG move from concept to commercial deployment right here in Perth. Hardware, software, integration all developed right here.

Its a simple principle. When the gun registers a hit, a mild yet very discomforting shock is sent thru the grip of the gun. You know you’ve been hit and the opposition usually knows too because you usually jump and pass compliments back to the other team.

Experienced lasertag and paintball players have commented on how much different it is to both traditional games.

It’s a very much slower game than traditional lasertag as you just don’t want to be hit, you think two, three or four times before you make a move!!

So you have the range of lasertag, the low game cost of lasertag, electronic hit detection of lasertag, and now the pain and adrenaline of paintball.

Our equipment is fitted with a separate key activation for the SHOCKTAG so should you have a mixed group or simply wish to play traditional lasertag the shock units can be switched off by PLS staff.

If you’re 14 or older then SHOCKTAG is the most fun you can have outdoors.

The PLS50s are the first units to be fitted out with SHOCKTAG, the PLS40s and subsequent equipment will follow very soon.

Perth Laser Sports has three models in its armoury:
PLS-50 The SHOCKTAG equipped PLS50 Machine gun carries the aluminium grip upgrade where the shock is delivered to your hand. The secondary key barrel allows only PLS staff to enable or disable the SHOCKTAG.
PLS-50 Weighing in at 4 kilos the PLS50 has a range of over 100 metres. Each unit is fitted with either a 45mm red dot sight or a telescopic sight. Military config has 12 clips of 30 shots, 1 grenade per clip, and 1 second dead time. Arcade config has 9 clips of 75 shots, 9 grenades, and three second dead time.
PLS-40 The PLS40 Sub-machine gun weighs 3 kilos and has a range of over 80 metres. Each unit is fitted with a 30mm red dot sight. Military config has 15 clips of 25 shots, 1 second dead time. Arcade config has 15 clips of 50 shots, 3 seconds dead time.
Spitfire The Spitfire machine pistol weighs 2 kilos and has a range of over 50 metres. Each unit is fitted with a 45mm red dot sight. Military config has 12 clips of 25 shots, 1 second dead time. Arcade config has 15 clips of 50 shots, 3 second dead time.
Camo Each player at our fields is issued with camouflage coveralls. They help the player to blend in and hide within the environment. The coveralls also offer protection from prickles, sun and dirt.
Claymore For extended sessions, teams are issued with Claymores to deploy on-field in support of their mission objectives. The claymore mine is a single use remote detonated device that will explode for 8 seconds when the detonator is pressed. Any players within a 4 metre range will be hit by "shrapnel"; if you stay near it for long enough it will take all your health away in military mode.

Perth Laser Sports has extended its armoury with these specialised models:
BFG The BFG Machine gun. This model is outfitted with both a telescopic sight and a red dot sight.
Sniper The PLS50 Sniper. Outfitted with a telescopic sight and a long focal length lens, this unit has an extended range. Silenced, the opposition won’t know where they are being shot from. This model has a 10 shot clip and operates in single shot mode.

Each lasertag gun is fitted with either a red dot ‘fast target acquisition’ sight or a telescopic sight. The red dot sight has the advantage of being easy to use for ‘point and shoot’ in close quarters combat. The telescopic sight has the advantage of being more precise for long distance shooting and ‘sniping’. Each gun is configurable with from 1 to 99 hit points. Each time you are shot, you lose a hit point (life). The number of hit points issued to players at the beginning of a game varies from mission to mission. When you lose all of your hit points a voice from your gun will exclaim "aarh!" a sensor that you wear on a cap on your head will flash, and a display on your gun will tell you that you are ‘dead’. Guns are reset to full health and ammo at the start of each mission.
There are 2 sensors attached via a cable to the gun, these sensors are worn by the player on a cap. The sensors can detect the infra-red pulse from another gun in a 180 degree arc, so you can effectively be shot in the head from 360 degrees. There is also a sensor on the front of your gun. When shooting at an opponent, you aim for the front of their gun or their head.
When you pull the trigger, the gun emits an infra-red beam detectable by the sensors worn by the other players, and your display indicates you have one shot less in your clip. When you reach 10 shots left in the clip, a beep or voice from the gun warns you that you are low on ammo. The gun makes a clicking sound when you have run out of shots. To reload you press the button under the front of the carry handle. There is a reload time (4 second military or 8 second arcade) and when you are shot and lose a hit point, your gun will be disabled for a short period (1 second military or 3 seconds arcade).
